Experimental rigs and Duck-Cam

Hoping to get some underwater footage I thought I would attempt to make a a float for the go pro to get more natural camera footage on the waves. I took inspiration from the wildlife film maker John Downer and his wildlife documentary 'Dolphins – a spy in the pod', where he uses cameras inside a robotic life like turtle. My Duck Cam was a little more basic.

My initial film project idea was originally to film at Stover Wildlife Reserve with the hope 'stealthy' filming of the wildfowl from just beneath the surface. Due to the time of year the location was fairly devoid of bird life due to migration but hope to revisit the site next year to try this idea out.

I was concerned that the duck float would be able to keep the GoPro afloat as well at the additional rigging of the Meccano to attach the underwater casing, i would then attach the Duck-Cam to a fishing reel and let the sea do the rest. I also evolved the selfie stick with the underwater GoPro that I used in Focus on Plaice and using a clamp attached the camera to the end of a broom handle to be able to extend the reach of the camera.
