As the storms Barney and then quickly followed by Desmond hit the UK I thought I would research any artists that may have painted in the area and I came back with William Turner
William Turner 1775 - 1821 was an English landscape painter and printmaker who was said to have been facsinated by the the raw power of the sea. He produced many sea scapes including The Slave ship 1840, After the Wreck (1835-1840) and two pictures of the Great Mew Stone during stormy seas .
