Dead frog with flies c1630 by Ambrosius Bosshaert
This digital artwork is a reproduction the 'memento mori' Dead frog with flies c1630 by Ambrosius Bosshaert. By digital artists Rob and Nick Carter picture is animated three hour film of the dead frog slowly decomposing until it reaches it's final transformation of skeleton and dust.

Above: Digitally mapping the frog.
The Carters also animated a still life by Sir Peter Blake which showed the painting travelling through time from dawn to dusk with flowers moving and insects visiting the scene.

I will use time lapse photography to create a short 'Vanitas' film. In my previous strand animation About Time Decay and Regrowth I time-lapse photographed vegetables decaying and being consumed by meal worms while simultaneously cress seeds germinated and grew to maturity.

Instead of this I will animate objects in the scenes using a clockwork timer, similar to a cooking time these will hopefully rotate the object in the time-lapse scene.
